DO YOU SELL HINGE CAPS?

No. we don't make them, we don't sell them and we don't recommend them! We've been in the cover caps business for 45 years and never yet seen a hinge-style cap that works.

Firstly, the inside of the base has been made to try and work with all types of screws. Because of the different shapes of screw heads, instead these caps don't support any screws properly and the screws will tend to pull through the base of the hinge cap, distorting the walls.

When closed, the caps don't lock onto the base of the cap - made worse if the screw has diistorted the base. This means the caps can be easily removed. They can also be a swallowing risk for young children.

Because they don't close or seal properly, they allow moisture inside the head of the cap, which causes the fastener heads to rust much faster than if there was no cap there at all. You can easily see this on car number plates fitted with hinge caps. Find such a car (it might even be your own car) and pop open the cap. Even on a car just 6 months old, the screw heads will be showing signs of rust.

Instead we recommend you use Snap-Caps. They look similar (better, actually), and allow you to choose a base that matches your screw type. When fitted correctly, Snap-Caps create an airtight and watertight seal around the head of the screw - ensuring caps cannot be easily removed (esp by young children) and the screw head is protected for decades.

DO YOU HAVE ON-LINE PURCHASING/SHOPPING CART ON YOUR WEBSITE?

No. Because of the many options available (product type, size, colour, finish etc) and our desire to ensure customers ‘get it right the first time’, we have decided to not offer this service on our website for the time being.

WHERE DO I FIND YOUR PRICES?

Trade prices are openly shown on the ‘BUY’ tab for each product. You can also download and print a single-page Trade Price List from the Downloads page.

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM ORDER OF ANY COLOUR?

Our MOQ (minimum order quantity) for all caps (except Electroplated Snap-Caps) and screws, is 1,000 pieces. Electroplated Snap-Caps are also available in quantities of 100, 250 & 500 pieces.

I DON'T WANT TO PURCHASE 1,000 CAPS. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

A bag of 1,000 caps starts from just £9.10 (ex VAT). However, we have a number of Resellers who carry most, if not all, of our product & colour range and are happy to sell in quantities of as few as 10 caps. Click here for more info.

HOW DO I PLACE MY ORDER?

Firstly, make sure you know as much as possible about the type of caps you need and the screws/fasteners you will be using.

If possible, use our Colour Matching Guide to find the best cap colour for your job (if you can't find the right colour in the Guide, the next best thing is to order a Sample Pack or to post us an offcut of the material you want matched)

Then you need to give us your order. The best (and probably fastest) way is to click on the "Ready to place your Order" button at the top right-hand corner or each page. From there, phone us on the number shown and we can take your order and credit card payment on the spot.

If you prefer, you can download one of our Order Forms and email or fax it to us. You can also email or fax us us your company Purchase Order.

HOW CAN I PAY FOR MY ORDER?

Paying By Credit or Debit Card:

We do not charge fees for card payments.

We accept MasterCard & VISA Credit or Debit Cards.
Fax or phone us details of Card Number, Cardholder Name, Expiry Date and 3-Digit Security number.
Please also advise the Postcode and Street Number of the address where the card is registered

Your card will not be charged until the goods are ready for dispatch.

A formal VAT Invoice and credit card receipt is sent with your order.

Paying By Electronic Bank Transfer: (such as FPS-Faster Payment Service, BACS, etc)

Please send us your ORDER prior to making your payment.
We will e-mail or fax a Pro-Forma Invoice (usually within the hour), confirming our bank details and the correct amount to pay.
Fax us a Confirmation of Deposit after making your payment.

Some payment methods may not be credited to our account until the third business day. This may delay dispatch of your order.

Paying By Cheque:

Please send us your ORDER prior to posting your payment.
We will e-mail or fax a Pro-Forma Invoice (usually within the hour), confirming the correct amount to pay.
We will dispatch your order after we receive your payment.

Unless you request otherwise, your VAT Invoice and credit card receipt (if applicable) will be dispatched with your order.

I NEED A PRO-FORMA INVOICE?

A formal VAT Invoice and credit card receipt is sent (in the parcel) with your order.

Due to the time and costs involved, we do not provide Pro-Forma Invoices where customers will be paying by card. All our pricing can be found on the "Prices" tab for each product and you can also download and/or print our single-page Price List.

Pro-Froma Invoices are offered only for customers paying by Electronic Transfer or by Cheque, to confirm the correct amount to be paid and advise the correct bank details.

I NEED THESE URGENTLY, HOW SOON CAN YOU DELIVER THEM?

Good news! Our caps are always available in stock. Very occasionally we may have a run on a colour, however as we manufacture our caps ourselves, we usually have more stock within one week.

Delivery is via a next-business-day courier service and priority deliveries can be arranged.

CAN I BUY FROM SCREWCAPS UK, EVEN THOUGH I'M NOT "IN THE TRADE"?

Yes, so long as you are prepared to buy our minimum quantity of caps, we can sell to you at ‘Trade’ price.

Please be aware however that we are a B2B seller and assume our customers understand what our products are and how they work.

Our products are therefore specifically not sold in accordance with the Sale of Goods Act 2013 (formerly known as the 'Distance Selling Regulations') which are intended to protect consumers (ie non-B2B sales). This means that if you wish to return or exchange goods (other than for warranty reasons), you may be charged delivery costs and a Restocking Fee.
